Although we had a scoot around the Wellington Road area a few or so ago, we had a really hood bush dive this Saturday to get at the grot around that area. We were also joined by a couple of people who were filming a piece about Local Litter Heroes for Northampton Film Festival. 27 bags in total from the zones we checked. This looked impressive for the filming as at the start, that end of Brackley looked quite tidy until you got in a ditch or a bush. Thank you to today's gang.
Good haul this morning by the gang as we tackled the shrubbed and wooded walk as you head out of Brackley from the zip wire park. 15 purple bags and a pile of assorted items. Plus 32 bags from the "magic bag tree"!! The little stream needed wellies to clear it and "the den" needs checking, so something for another day. We were unable to yank out the shopping trolley in the stream so we are seeing if our local council can help.
Brackley Litter Wombles Tesco blue token money We were so grateful that the people of Brackley supported us with the Tesco blue tokens and now we've spent a chunk of it, we'll let you know how it's being spent. We have bought.. * More hi Viz vests (vital as lots have grown legs and we have new people joining us all the time,) * More bag rings * Arm protectors ( for summer hedge diving) * Litter pickers for school visits * Litter pickers for Turweston Scouts group * Litter pickers for our vintage Wombles at Brackley Care Home * Sets of gloves for Brackley 5th and Turweston scout groups * 4 x 50 litre bins for Top Station car park * Branded bum bags for our regular Wombles We've also got a few tote bags to sell and we are trialling cigarette butt pouches to see if they are worth promoting/ selling as part of our "war on cigarette ends"
