23 Wombles, 23 bags, a scooter, a plastic liquid container and a company sign. Womble wage found!   Not the haul of last month but lots of little bits collected so it looks much tidier around Sainsbury's, the back of Sainsbury's to Paisley Pear, the Medical Centre and Turweston Road.   Thank you so much to everyone that came along today. Great work Wombles!

5TH BRACKLEY CUB SCOUTS WOMBLE

Jenni Collins and I had a great time Wombling with the cubs.   They were so keen and very determined to retrieve things behind wire fences. Some great puzzle solving and teamwork! Three bags of litter gathered this evening from the scout field and around the scout hut. They all earned their Womble badges!

RECYCLING BIN IN POPPYFIELDS PARK

Just did a quick assembly at Radstone with my library n Womble n elf head on. They got a three in one. Mark Stopps was there as Year 6 have arranged for BTC to install a blue recycling bin in Poppyfields Park and it's now in! So if you are in Poppyfields Park you can now recycle cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, card and paper in the blue bin. This is a trial area. If it works (and it doesn't end up getting contaminated) further blue bins may be installed in other areas.   Great wombling by the Year 6 at Radstone Primary School!

BUCKINGHAM ROAD

A few hard core Wombles attacked the stream at the bottom of Buckingham Road. 9 of us in total.   12 bags and loads of detritus. 12 bottles of "driver tizer"!!   Jacky and Trish both looked like two wild women of the hedgerow at the end of it.     Thank you to our mini wombles that came along and everyone else. NO WOMBLE AWARDS THIS WEEK

No Womble awards for last week as we were a bit quiet with no lucky finds.     We are expecting a bumper crop of awards for the coming week though as we are tackling the bottom of Buckingham Road.     Sweepstake on how many cones and hubcaps are found!

MYSTERY OR JUST COULDN'T BE BOTHERED?

Image
Behind houses on Valley Rd...entrance to this spot via Dale Close.    Why would someone carry all this building rubble, bricks, wood, plexiglass up into the wooded area behind Dale Close and Valley Rd? How did no one see them as they would have to park on Dale Close? Or is this stuff thrown over from one of the houses? The mystery remains.    This is going to need the help of some strong Wombles when we get round to this! Watch this space
