HEDGEROWS REVEALING LITTER

 

Walked past the MCS hedge yesterday.... Now it's been cut back you can see what a right state it's in! 😲

The mum who reported it to us in a different group said her child proclaimed "The moon must be so sad to see the rubbish". He was quite right, the moon must be crying.
 
Though I am now itching to attack it, I'm saving it for this Wednesday's Womble so that the kids can see it as they walk to school and also see a gang of Wombles clearing it. I'm also going to email the head to let him know this and also see if I can go in and do some assemblies. (Yes I am brave enough to talk to a whole year group of teenagers. 🤣🤣)
 

We're now getting a few Wednesday Womble locations especially now we can see in the hedgerows.
1) MCS hedges down to old swimming pool hedges
2) St Peter's Gate/Roman Way down to Turweston Bridge
3) Lark Rise to the left and round the back of Tesco
 
"Please let us know of areas you see,
That need some Womble tlc."

 ... but we are taking it on! The lay-by as you enter Brackley from the Bicester side before the Evenley roundabout is by far the worst thing we have seen! So much litter, mounds of it. We barely touched the sides on our first attack. It was really hard core and is the reason why we need our lovely 400+ group members to look after the roads in Brackley so us weekly hard core members can do filthy areas like the layby we started today. We shall be plugging this A LOT over the next few weeks!   A43 layby heading into Brackley from Bicester 6 hard core Wombles and in 2 hours cleared 51 bags 127 tizer Lawnmower, baby rocker, baby seat, 2 tyres, 1 wheel, lots of bags of compost, suitcase, shoes galore, a flat screen TV and dvd player ( feel like I'm on the generation game) a pair of pants (hooray!) and other assorted items of grot. 2ND COMMUNITY LITTER PICK

  23 Wombles, 23 bags, a scooter, a plastic liquid container and a company sign. Womble wage found!   Not the haul of last month but lots of little bits collected so it looks much tidier around Sainsbury's, the back of Sainsbury's to Paisley Pear, the Medical Centre and Turweston Road.   Thank you so much to everyone that came along today.
